Inclusive, client-centred registered massage therapy in downtown Squamish.

My treatment technique.

I use a blended approach in my massage therapy. A treatment may involve a combination of techniques including Swedish massage, trigger point release, joint mobilization, myofascial release, or craniosacral therapy. I avoid cookie-cutter massages, instead I tailor each visit to your particular needs.

  • A massage practice that is welcoming and inclusive.

I have extensive practical experience with clients in the childbearing year, gender-diverse clients, post-surgical clients, seniors, preteens and teens. I have a weight-inclusive approach to my work and a belief that all bodies are worthy of care.

  • Meet my clients where they are at.

The way I work is client-led, rooted in curiosity, intuitive and also deeply respecting science. I listen closely to my clients, what they say and also what their bodies say.

  • Working with you to help you reach your goals.

Using an ongoing combination of intuitive sensing and checking in with you throughout to provide the most effective treatment. Adjusting my depth of pressure and treatment techniques to best suit your needs. Offering personalized suggestions to help further extend the benefits of your massage therapy treatment.

  • I've been getting massages with Vanessa for over a year here in Squamish. I book my RMT appointments with her when I get serious shoulder, back, and neck aches and spasms. She has great technique and applies the necessary pressure on my tense spots. It makes all the difference to get a good massage from Vanessa. She listens well and suggests ways to alleviate the pain from tense areas in my body if ever I cannot find a time for a massage treatment...given my busy schedule! Thanks Vanessa!

  • Arriving at the clinic

I practice massage at Anchor Health and Wellness, at #101 - 37776 2nd Ave in downtown Squamish. This is the end of 2nd Ave and it’s a peaceful, dead end street. You will be able to easily find a parking spot right out front of the clinic.

Please arrive at the clinic approximately 5 minutes before your treatment time, in order to have a moment to relax before your treatment and to use the restroom if needed.

  • On the massage table

Once I leave the treatment room, you will undress to your level of comfort to enable me to treat the area of concern with techniques that use oil and gliding my hands and forearms on your skin.

The massage table has a table warmer (to use as needed) to keep you at the right temperature for effective treatment.

Your body will be covered by the sheet and blanket up to your shoulders throughout the treatment. I will gain your consent before undraping a part of your body in order to massage it.

  • After your treatment

Please get off the table slowly. It is possible you may feel slightly light headed or tired after your massage.

I will check on how you are feeling after the treatment and discuss a plan for follow up treatments if recommended.

If you wish to pay by a method other than the credit card saved on your file, please let me know and I will be happy to accommodate you.

Our office manager will submit your massage treatment to any extending medical benefits you may have.

Enjoy your post-massage glow, and please consider writing me a Google review! It truly helps to receive your feedback.

About me

I’ve been a registered massage therapist since 2005, and I still love my job! After earning a Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from McMaster University, I attended the Okanagan College of Massage Therapy. Since becoming an RMT I have continued my studies, including advanced training in Prenatal Massage, Postpartum Massage, Massage for Complicated Pregnancies and Post-Cesarean Massage.   Additional training and experience includes therapeutic breast massage, including working with clients post-mastectomy, after breast augmentation, and after gender-affirming surgeries.

I also have a deep enthusiasm for massage research conferences, and I’ve attended many, both in BC and internationally.

When not at work I am a proud mom of a spirited, smart little girl. I love getting out for hikes and bike rides with her or with friends. I’m also an avid baker, and you may find me at any moment foisting sweet treats on my loved ones.

I practice at Anchor Health and Wellness in downtown Squamish. This newly renovated clinic is peaceful and welcoming, and I work with an inspiring group of talented health care professionals. You will find the space is conducive to creating a relaxing, therapeutic environment for your massage appointment.
